Job Details: Title: Data Modeller Work Location: SFO, CA - Hybrid Project Duration: 1 year, with possible extension Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Data Modeller to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models that support business intelligence, analytics, reporting, and operational applications. The role involves translating business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models while ensuring data quality, consistency, scalability, and governance. The Data Modeller will work closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Database Administrators, and business stakeholders to create robust and scalable data architectures.

Responsibilities

Data Modelling
Strong understanding of Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modelling .
Strong knowledge of Relational Data Modelling and ER Modelling .
Experience with Dimensional Data Modelling .
Good understanding of normalization and denormalization techniques.
Experience designing Star and Snowflake schemas.
Understanding of slowly changing dimensions (SCD), fact tables, dimension tables, and surrogate keys.
Database & SQL
Strong SQL skills.
Good knowledge of relational databases such as: PostgreSQL Oracle SQL Server MySQL Snowflake
Understanding of database performance, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
Knowledge of database constraints and referential integrity.
Data Warehousing & Cloud
Experience with data warehouse and data lake concepts.
Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
Experience with one or more cloud data platforms such as: AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform
Exposure to platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift is desirable.
Data Modelling Tools
Experience with one or more of the following: Erwin Data Modeler ER/Studio SAP Power Designer Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler Sparx Enterprise Architect Lucid chart Microsoft Visio

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
5–10 years of experience in data modelling, database design, data warehousing, or related roles.
Experience working on enterprise data platforms and large-scale data projects.

Nice-to-haves

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
