<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Now Hiring General Laborers for a Manufacturing Facility in Chambersburg, PA!</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>1st shift- Monday-Thursday!</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Second Chance Friendly Employer!</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Full-Time and Long-Term</strong><p><strong> </strong><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>This role supports production operations in a roofing materials manufacturing facility by safely handling rolls coming off the conveyor line, preparing them for processing, and assisting with machine operation. You will help maintain correct line speed, ensure materials are properly staged, and keep accurate production records to support efficient and continuous manufacturing.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Remove rolls from the conveyor belt and stack them in an organized and safe manner.</li><li>Assist in lacing, starting, and stopping the machine to run material through for production.</li><li>Maintain correct line speed throughout the shift to support consistent production output.</li><li>Inspect rolls for defects, repair as needed, and stage them to be run on the machine.</li><li>Prepare rolls for production by retrieving them from storage, removing damaged or “busted” edges using a sheet stripper, and sanding the wheel grind as required.</li><li>Stage felt rolls so the machine can run smoothly and without interruption.</li><li>Record all required information for dry felt rolls used during the shift on a daily basis.</li><li>Document all paper breaks and machine downtime on the Lost Productivity Record.</li><li>Perform general cleaning tasks to keep the work area clean, safe, and free of debris.</li><li>Count, stack, and organize materials to maintain accurate inventory and efficient workflow.</li><li>Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly as part of daily production activities.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures when working around running machines and forklifts.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in general labor within a manufacturing, production, construction, or roofing environment.</li><li>Ability to operate and assist with industrial machinery and production equipment.</li><li>Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.</li><li>Capability to perform general cleaning and housekeeping tasks in a production setting.</li><li>Skill in stacking, counting, and organizing materials accurately.</li><li>Basic record-keeping skills to document production data, breaks, and downtime.</li><li>Ability to work safely around running machines and forklifts in a busy manufacturing environment.</li><li>Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and move rolls and materials, and work in a non-climate-controlled facility.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Background in roofing materials manufacturing or related construction trades is beneficial.</li><li>Prior experience as a machine operator in a production environment is an advantage.</li><li>Familiarity with production processes, line speed monitoring, and material staging.</li><li>Attention to detail when inspecting materials and documenting production information.</li><li>Reliability and punctuality to support a structured shift schedule and production targets.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>Employees benefit from a supportive manufacturing environment that offers paid holidays, comprehensive health coverage, and long-term retirement savings options. The environment includes a strong asphalt smell from the product and is not climate controlled, which means it can be hot during the summer months. The typical schedule includes: Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During a period from the end of January into February, operations shift to a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For 12-hour shifts, employees receive two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break. On 8-hour days, employees receive one 15-minute break and one 30-minute lunch break. Work is performed in standard manufacturing attire appropriate for an industrial environment, with required safety gear and personal protective equipment as needed.</p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, PA.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $16.75 - $17.99/hr. <p> Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
