Job Overview

Our Client is a premier, dedicated personal injury law firm based in Iowa, recognized as a regional leader in advocating for individuals who have suffered life-changing injuries, disabilities, or employment claims. Representing individual plaintiffs rather than corporations, they manage a wide variety of complex litigation matters, including motor vehicle collisions, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, traumatic brain injuries, and wrongful death. Operating with compassion, integrity, and personalized client service, they rely on a collaborative legal support team to deliver high-touch representation and legal excellence.

The Role

Our Client is seeking a organized, proactive Remote Case Manager / Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys, in-house paralegals, and injured clients through every stage of the legal process. Serving as the primary point of contact and liaison between attorneys and clients, this professional will manage cases from initial intake through litigation, discovery, and trial preparation. This role is ideal for a compassionate, detail-oriented communicator who thrives in cloud-based legal environments and takes pride in guiding clients thoughtfully through complex, multi-year legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Document Organization

  • Manages assigned personal injury matters across all stages of intake, pre-litigation, discovery, and formal court proceedings.
  • Works closely with clients to gather, organize, and verify essential facts, medical records, loss-of-earnings documentation, and key case files.
  • Maintains meticulously organized digital case files within cloud-based legal management software, ensuring data integrity and rapid file retrieval.
  • Tracks judicial timelines, court deadlines, statutes of limitations, and case milestones to maintain steady progress across high-volume dockets.
Third-Party Coordination & Discovery Support
  • Corresponds regularly with third parties, including insurance adjusters, medical providers, government entities, law enforcement agencies, and expert witnesses to request and retrieve records.
  • Oversees the exchange of written discovery and document production with opposing legal counsel, including preparing responses and organizing incoming evidence.
  • Assists attorneys with drafting legal correspondence, court pleadings, discovery responses, and settlement demand packages.
Client Advocacy & Scheduling Operations
  • Serves as a primary front-line contact for clients, providing warm, empathetic guidance and regular updates on case developments.
  • Coordinates and schedules client consultations, depositions, mediations, court hearings, and case-related conferences across multiple calendars.
  • Facilitates seamless collaboration between remote team members, in-house paralegals, and managing attorneys to ensure no client detail is overlooked.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies

Required Qualifications
  • Fluent English Mastery: Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills, characterized by executive professionalism, warmth, and strong active listening ability.
  • Organizational Mastery: Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities to navigate complex, multi-year cases across high-volume caseloads.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Thoughtful, detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to continuous learning, adaptation, and proactive task execution.
  • Software & Tech Stack Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook calendar/email), Adobe Acrobat Professional, videoconferencing tools (Zoom), and cloud-based file management systems.
  • Schedule Availability: Full commitment to working 40 hours per week with availability during core US Central business hours (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM CST).
  • Remote Infrastructure: Dedicated quiet home office setup, computer, webcam, headset, and reliable high-speed internet connection.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background as a legal assistant, paralegal, or case manager within a US law firm (personal injury, medical malpractice, or civil litigation experience is a major plus).
  • Formal legal education, paralegal certification, or law degree.
  • Direct hands-on experience using legal CRM and case management platforms (e.g., Filevine) and state/federal electronic court filing (e-filing) systems.
Benefits
  • Competitive Compensation: $1,400 - $2,400 USD/month based on experience and qualification level.
  • Comprehensive Legal Training: Direct mentorship, comprehensive onboarding, and professional development within a established US law firm.
  • High-Impact Work: Meaningful opportunity to provide compassionate, life-changing support to individuals navigating complex legal systems.
  • 100% Remote Flexibility: Long-term contractor role offering schedule flexibility alongside stable, predictable remote workflows.
