Testa Produce traces its roots back to 1912 when Dominick Testa started delivering produce to customers in Chicago. The company is now a member of the FreshEdge family of companies and run by Peter Testa, Dominick’s grandson. We offer a complete line of products to foodservice operators throughout Northern & Central Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana. While Testa Produce is known for its fresh fruits and vegetables as well as availability of special produce items, it also offers dry goods, frozen items and refrigerated meats and dairy items. Testa operates primarily out of its LEED platinum foodservice facility in the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago but maintains a cross-dock facility in Milwaukee to service its Wisconsin customers. Job Summary

Pickers pick customer orders and stage pallets of product.

Duties and Responsibilities

Pick and stage orders on the Shipping Dock.
Check to correct quantity and quality on all product picked for ship out.
Prepare paperwork for efficient processing by Dispatch Office staff.
May conduct physical inventories upon request from manager.
Union Position after waiting period is completed.
Scheduled start time 5:00pm or 6:00pm

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (approx. 39 degrees)
Must be able to work evenings/nights.
Must be able to comprehend (read and write) the English language.
The position requires walking, standing, bending, twisting, and reaching 6-8 hours per day.
Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
Previous forklift experience strongly preferred.
